KTC BV at PACKINNO: Exploring Packaging Innovation and Strengthening Partnerships in China

Earlier this month, KTC BV was present in Guangzhou, where our General Manager Gasper Marusa and Business Development Manager Aleksandra Hristov attended PACKINNO, one of Asia’s leading exhibitions dedicated to packaging products, materials, and technologies.

Held at the China Import & Export Fair Complex, PACKINNO serves as a key meeting point for stakeholders across the global packaging ecosystem. The exhibition brings together manufacturers, technology providers, and material specialists showcasing solutions across paper, plastic, metal, and composite packaging, alongside increasingly important sustainable and high-performance alternatives.

As part of the broader Sino-Pack / PACKINNO platform, the exhibition continues to grow in scale and relevance, attracting thousands of exhibitors and a global audience of professional visitors — reinforcing the importance of packaging innovation across industries such as food production, logistics, and consumer goods.

A Deeper Understanding of a Rapidly Evolving Industry

For KTC BV, attending PACKINNO was not only about presence, but about gaining a deeper understanding of a sector that is becoming increasingly central to global food trade.

Packaging today goes far beyond functionality. It plays a critical role in product integrity, logistics efficiency, sustainability, and market positioning. Across the exhibition, several key trends stood out.

There was a strong emphasis on:

  • Lightweight and efficient aluminium-based packaging solutions

  • Recyclable and environmentally conscious materials

  • Flexible packaging formats adapted to modern supply chains

  • Innovations aimed at reducing waste while maintaining performance

In parallel, suppliers showcased advancements in production technologies, highlighting improvements in efficiency, scalability, and consistency.

These insights are highly relevant as KTC BV continues to expand its packaging materials division, complementing its core activities in global food commodity trade.

Beyond the Exhibition: Visiting Partners Across China

While the exhibition provided a comprehensive overview of the industry, the visit extended beyond Guangzhou.

During the trip, the KTC team travelled to several industrial regions, including Zhangzhou, to meet with new and potential partners involved in packaging materials production.

These on-site visits offered valuable visibility into manufacturing processes, technological capabilities, and operational standards. Engaging directly with suppliers at origin remains essential in building reliable, long-term partnerships and ensuring alignment with international quality and performance expectations.

The meetings held during these visits opened new avenues for collaboration and will contribute to strengthening KTC BV’s position within the packaging materials segment.

Building Momentum for the Future

Overall, the trip proved both productive and insightful.

By combining participation in a major international exhibition with direct engagement at the production level, KTC BV was able to gain a well-rounded understanding of current market dynamics, emerging technologies, and future opportunities within the packaging sector.

These experiences support the company’s broader objective of further developing its packaging materials division and expanding its role within this space throughout 2026 and beyond.

Strengthening the Team Beyond Business

Alongside a full schedule of meetings and site visits, the trip also included a short visit to Hong Kong, offering the team a moment to step back, reflect, and strengthen internal alignment, as well as a visit to the Canton Tower.

In fast-paced international environments, such moments play an important role in reinforcing collaboration, exchanging perspectives, and maintaining a strong team dynamic — all of which contribute to long-term performance and effective partnership building.

Looking Ahead

As global trade and packaging continue to evolve, KTC BV remains committed to staying closely connected to industry developments, strengthening partnerships, and identifying innovative solutions.

The insights gained and relationships built during this trip will play an important role in shaping the next phase of our packaging activities.

We look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to explore new opportunities across the global packaging landscape.
