KTC BV at GLOBAL PACK & FOODTECH 2025: Unpacking Innovation in Athens

From November 7–9, 2025, our colleague Aleksandra Hristov represented KTC BV at one of the most dynamic events for packaging and food-processing industries — the GLOBAL PACK & FOODTECH exhibition at the Metropolitan Expo in Athens, Greece.

Gathering hundreds of exhibitors at the Metropolitan Expo Center in Athens, with more than 15,000 visitors, it was more than just an exhibition. It represented a vivid innovation and gathering hub, being a meeting point and offering industry professionals not only innovative technologies & solutions, but inspiration on the possible solutions for the packaging of tomorrow.

Exploring the Future of Packaging

At GLOBAL PACK, thousands of professionals, machinery-suppliers, material innovators, and technology experts converged under one roof. Aleksandra engaged with leading exhibitors and explored cutting-edge solutions across:

  • packaging machinery and materials

  • labelling, marking & finishing technologies

  • automation, robotics, traceability systems

All of which are highly relevant to KTC BV’s global trade operations, as packaging is a critical link in product integrity, export compliance and market differentiation.

Networking & Relationship Building

Beyond technology, the visit opened doors to valuable conversations. Aleksandra fostered the build of relationships and made new contacts across Europe and the Mediterranean region — suppliers, processing-equipment providers, and packaging material specialists. Through these interactions, we explored how packaging advances can support our sourcing of nuts, seeds, dried fruits and other ingredients, and ensure that what’s sourced is delivered with the quality and reliability our partners expect.

Local Insights, Global Impact

Attending the fair in Athens also enabled Aleksandra to gain first-hand insight into Greece’s industrial culture — a region well-placed for Eastern Mediterranean trade flows and packaging innovations. Understanding regional logistics, production ecosystems and collaboration potential adds a new dimension to how KTC BV approaches supply-chain partnerships.

Gratitude & Collaboration

We extend heartfelt thanks to Aggelika Efstathopoulou  for kindly introducing us to this event and facilitating our participation, inspiring us to take a leap of faith and explore this new market. Her support helped us navigate the fair effectively, connect with relevant professionals, and gain deeper insight into the packaging sector.

Our compliments to her and the entire organization involved in facilitating both GLOBAL PACK & FOOD TECH, making them a truly memorable experience and helping participants through every step of the way for a successful visit.

What Comes Next

Returning from Athens, we are inspired to translate what we’ve learned into action. Our next steps include:

  • evaluating key packaging materials and machinery leads for feasibility in our supply-chain

  • exploring collaborations with new partners identified during the exhibition

  • aligning our sourcing, logistics and marketing teams around packaging strategies that support product integrity and market growth

At KTC BV, our commitment to quality, transparency and innovation drives us forward. The visit to GLOBAL PACK & FOODTECH 2025 reinforced the importance of not just sourcing the right product — but ensuring it arrives, presents and performs in the marketplace at the highest standard.
